On the palate: cinnamon, ginger, toasted grain, oak, nuts, hints of soft tobacco, caramel. Medium-bodied, sweet, good spice.

Smooth Ambler's Old Scout American Whiskey is a blend of two whiskeys made from bourbon mashbills: one a high-rye whiskey, from MGP in Indiana, aged 9+ years in new oak barrels; the other, from Tennessee, for 5 years in re-charred bourbon casks (which is why this legally can't be labelled a bourbon).
